The Terrain
Sunshine Village is a big mountain offering 8 chair lifts and 120 ski runs! This resort is big! Its spread across 4 mountains. This ski hill has something for everyone. It’s well known for the meadows of powder and the “Delirum Dive” a run only for experienced riders.
The Gondola base is where the magic begins. You will take the gondola from the main lodge to the first stop, Goats eye, where you will be gifted with runs for strong skiers and snowboarders, offering black diamond and blue runs. If black diamond runs aren’t your forte you can continue to the sunshine village base where there are options for everyone, green runs, blue runs and black runs!
The favourite run on a power day is the “Continental Divide” where you can ski powder for days!
Be sure to enjoy a beer and some warm food in the “Mad Trappers” lodge, they offer a cozy cabin feel and great food!

The best ski hill near Canmore in our opinion is between Lake Louise and Sunshine Village because they are both large alpine hills that offer terrain for any level of skier. Nakiska and Norquay offer a smaller hill that may not be as busy as the big hills. They offer alternative options such as winter tubbing and snow shoeing.
